Join the team: junior-middleweight designer

We're on the hunt for a new junior – middleweight designer; a curious creative with a flair for intelligent illustration, pixel perfect presentations, and vibrant visuals (appreciation of awful alliteration not entirely necessary). 

Based in our Glasgow office, and reporting directly to our Head of Design, you'll be responsible for a huge variety of work, taking initial briefs from first thoughts to concept, design, and delivery. As an integral part of the Creative team, you’ll have the ability to meet tight deadlines and fast turn-arounds, thrive under pressure and be willing to listen to feedback, using it to grow and improve.

Our clients are varied, exciting and hugely well-known for what they do – we want your work to be the same. When it comes ideas your only limitation will be your creativity,  whether it’s design for social, websites, print, events or immersive experiences. 

As well as striking visuals, your work will include everything from creative brainstorms to presentations. We’re growing rapidly and we expect your role will too, meaning you’ll need curiosity, drive and a whole lot of ambition! The role is incredibly fast paced so, while you’ll always be supported, you need to be a great self-starter, always raring to go the extra mile.

While we care more about the person than the stats, we’re looking for someone with minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar job role, as well a graphic design qualification at degree or course level, working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and a brilliant knowledge of PowerPoint.

For extra brownie points, an understanding of digital design and UX, storyboarding and animation skills (After Effects/Premiere/Cinema4D) would be a huge bonus.

Graphic Design

You’ll have solid design and typography skills with knowledge of layouts and graphic fundamentals, but with the creative spark that makes Wire’s campaigns truly famous. You’ll play an important part of the design and development of brilliant integrated campaigns across multiple channels so you’ll need to be a whizz at translating brand stories into imagery. 

Reactive social media and PR content creation

In the digital age, a story can disappear as quickly as it appears - so you need to be well-versed in reactive thinking and speedy content production. With an interest in culture and current affairs, you'll be quick off the mark in thinking of on-brand ideas and turning them into viral visuals. 

Ideation, communication, and presentation
