The humble glass of milk – simple, unassuming…or is it? Graham’s the Family Dairy set out to help milk-lovers discover the hidden depths of their favourite tipple as they became the first UK dairy to appoint a Milk Sommelier. Doug Wood - a sommelier of over 15 years - turned his expert nose from wine to the meadows of Bridge of Allan, as he identified the notes and flavours subtly present in some of Graham’s creamiest milks.
A fun, engaging video of the Graham’s Milk Sommelier, and his ‘Mini Milk Sommelier’ assistant Lily, was paired with punchy media materials, sparking curiosity and interest in whether milk does indeed have tasting notes. Graham’s then turned an Edinburgh wine bar in to a ‘milk bar’, with our Milk Sommelier hosting a tasting session with bloggers and influencers, who shared their own milk tasting notes on social media.
Coverage was secured in Scotland’s top print, digital and broadcast media and on the platforms of influential food bloggers. With an opportunity to see of over 10 million, Graham’s Milk Sommelier has put milk back on the menu, encouraging consumers to look at the white stuff in a completely different light!
