ScotRail sprinkled some seasonal sparkle on Christmas commuters across the month of December. From beautiful hand-adorned train shaped tree decorations, surprise gifts for lucky passenger, to festive fun with the Grinch.
The Grinch
A classic Christmas character for all the wrong reasons, The Grinch was on board routes across Glasgow surprising ScotRail’s young passengers with Christmas gifts.
The creepy character, with his giant sack of gifts, challenged kids to make him laugh for a chance to pick a present. From a slight smirk, to a full on grin, our green-faced Grinch’s attitude changed from naughty to nice as ScotRail’s mini-passengers helped spread the yuletide cheer.
Santa’s Travelling Workshop
We commissioned the creation of Santa’s Travelling Workshop, a hand-built grotto from which we gave away 300 personalised Christmas tree train decorations.
Chris Spirit (ScotRail's answer to Santa Claus)
was on board the Aberdeen to Glasgow train this weekend chatting to passengers, handing out chocolate coins and spreading Christmas cheer. However, all is not what it seems...
Chris Spirit secretly selected three lucky passengers to make their Christmas wish come true.
Unbeknownst to those on-board, ScotRail's crafty elves got to work in record time to have their dream presents wrapped and ready to surprise the delighted passengers at their end destination!
ScotRail surprised Mum Charlene from Glasgow and her 3 daughters with a 42 inch TV. Charlene says:
'Can’t believe it, thanks to ScotRail for such an amazing surprise when I got off the train. It’s made our Christmas!'
